Cop Accused of Killing Girlfriend's Dog, Texting Photo
Alec Eugene Taylor   (Montgomery County Department of Police)

A city cop in Baltimore faces animal cruelty charges after he allegedly beat his girlfriend's 7-month-old puppy to death and then texted her a photo of it, reports the Baltimore Sun. Alec Taylor allegedly beat the dog with a mop and choked it after it defecated on the carpet. He then texted the photo to his girlfriend, complaining that he was tired of cleaning up after the dog, and threw Rocko in the Dumpster. Taylor retrieved the Jack Russell terrier from the trash at his girlfriend's request so she could bury it, reports CBS Local, and Animal Services officers later dug it up for evidence. Taylor turned himself in yesterday and has been suspended without pay. (Click to read about how one critic thinks police kill too many dogs while on duty.)
