Cops: Man Invents Fake, Blind Twin to Avoid Tickets

Authorities say a northern New Jersey man posed as his fictitious, blind twin brother in a bid to delay court hearings on several motor vehicle summonses. Olawale Agoro, of Hackensack, now faces charges of hindering apprehension, false swearing, and resisting arrest. Rochelle Park police tell the Record that Agoro received five summonses during a July 31 traffic stop. But during a September court appearance, authorities say the 58-year-old Agoro claimed to be his twin brother "Tony."

Suspicious of the claims, the officer who issued the tickets followed Agoro out of court and soon saw him driving. He issued yet more tickets. Agoro then allegedly twice got adjournments after "Tony" sought them from court clerks. They finally called police, and a fingerprint scan proved that "Tony" wasn't real. (More weird crimes stories.)
