Investigators are pretty sure that an inmate found dead in a steam-filled cell wasn't murdered, but they can't explain just what happened to Louis Leysath. The 35-year-old was found in his cell at Maryland's Jessup Correctional Institution on Friday, and a prison spokesman says the death was "under unusual circumstance," Reuters reports.
There was no fire in the cell, which Leysath had to himself, and the spokesman says it's not clear whether the death was an accident or suicide. Leysath was serving a 30-year sentence for the 2008 murder of his girlfriend, and corrections officials have ordered an investigation of the death and an administrative review of the incident, reports the Baltimore Sun.
