Facebook is promising improvement in hiring more minorities, and its own hiring stats show there's plenty of room for it, reports the Guardian. The most recent numbers are from 2013, when the company hired 1,231 people. Of those, seven were black. Some other numbers:

  • The percentages of workers who were black, Hispanic, or two or more races were flat at 2%, 4%, and 3%
  • The percentage of white workers in the US dropped slightly from 57% to 55%
  • The percentage of Asian workers spiked from 2% to 36%
  • 73% of senior execs were white
  • The percentage of women inched up from 31% to 32%
