Cops: Dad's Will Sparks Poorly Executed Murder Try
John Knudsen, 44.   (Ormond Beach Police)

A central Florida man is accused of trying to electrocute his father after finding out he was the sole beneficiary of the elderly man's will. Ormond Beach police said Monday that 81-year-old John Knudsen told them his 44-year-old son, also named John Knudsen, held two black wires to his chest early Thanksgiving morning.

Police say the older man passed out briefly but sneaked out of the house when his son left the room. The Daytona Beach News-Journal reports that police say the two initially argued Nov. 22 after the son was told to get a job. Police say the son is charged with attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault on an elderly disabled person. (More Florida stories.)
