Poll: Trump's Muslim Ban Doesn't Hurt Him One Iota

Among the things that happened after Donald Trump announced his plan on Monday to ban Muslims from entering our country: JK Rowling burned him, hundreds of thousands of UK residents tried to block him, and one of his rivals called him unhinged. Here's what didn't happen: any pain to his poll numbers. In the first national poll to be taken 100% after his Muslim plan was uttered, Trump is still sitting at the top with a 35% slice. That's identical to the support he enjoyed before he called for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

The Reuters/Ipsos poll found that 64% of Republicans did not view the comments as offensive, though 41% allowed that they could hurt his shot at landing in the Oval Office. Where the other leading Republicans stand in the poll, released Friday: Ben Carson at 12%, and Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush tied at 10%. (More Donald Trump stories.)
