Police say a bride in southern Arizona was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving after she was involved in a car crash on the way to her wedding. Amber Young was in her wedding dress when she was handcuffed and put into a police cruiser Monday in Marana, 30 miles north of Tucson, the AP reports. Police spokesman Sgt. Chriswell Scott says one person suffered minor injuries in the three-car collision Young triggered. The bride was taken to a police substation to have her blood drawn.
"This could've turned out way worse than it did," Scott says, per the Arizona Republic. "It's supposed to be the happiest day of her life, and this just goes out as a reminder as to why you should never drive while impaired." Scott tweeted, "Don't drive impaired, till death do we part doesn't need any help." Young, 32, signed a criminal citation for DUI before she was released to her fiancee, police say. It's not clear whether the wedding went ahead. (More DUI stories.)
