The dollar may be weak, but Americans’ desire to travel overseas this summer is strong, the Los Angeles Times reports. While domestic travel has appeared to hit the skids, more than 25 million Americans will grab their passports and take off for adventures abroad—up 2.6% from last year, AAA says.
“Americans work hard and longer than ever,” said an AAA spokeswoman. "They believe they’ve earned and deserve a vacation regardless of the price.” But one traveler noted that penny-pinching is in order upon arrival. The hottest ticket may be to Australia, where Americans can still find good Down Under deals. (More air travel stories.)
