A drone targeted Bill Cosby as he was in the yard of SCI Phoenix prison in Collegeville, Pa., last week, the actor's spokesperson tells USA Today. The rep says a drone was spotted flying overhead; he says he assumes it was a media drone with a camera, attempting to get a shot of Cosby, and that he's previously complained about such drones flying over Cosby's Montgomery County home. Sources tell TMZ the correctional facility, where Cosby has been since September, was locked down for a full day after the drone spotting. Flying a drone over a prison is illegal in Pennsylvania.
Department of Corrections officials would not comment on the matter specifically, but, "That said, the agency has installed drone detection systems as part of enhanced security measures at its prisons," an official says, adding that the agency "will work with law enforcement to prosecute perpetrators to the fullest extent of the law." TMZ's sources say prison officials also believe the drone was sent in an attempt to get footage of Cosby. (Last month, Cosby's team went after the judge in an appeal filing.)
