Filings Show Cosby Has a Deal on Accusers' Lawsuits

Bill Cosby has agreed to settle defamation lawsuits filed by seven women after he accused them of lying about sexual misconduct allegations, the Guardian reports. Terms of the settlement, which would require the approval of the judge handling the case, are confidential. The actor and comedian, 81, is in prison after being convicted in a separate case. There was no indication in the filings whether Cosby would drop his counterclaims against the women, one of whom died recently. "Each plaintiff is satisfied with the settlement," the women's lawyer said in court filings, per NBC. But a statement on Cosby's Twitter and Instagram pages said that he hadn't settled any cases, adding that the AIG insurance firm did so without the "knowledge, permission and/or consent of Mr. Cosby."
