The kids were not all right at The Who's Monday night concert in New York City. At least not according to singer Roger Daltrey, who ripped into fans at Madison Square Garden who decided to toke up while the band was performing, Page Six reports. In what some treated as an "old man shakes fist at cloud" moment, but which has basis in a real medical issue Daltrey has, the 75-year-old frontman can be seen in a video making the rounds online as he addressed the pot smokers in the audience.
"All the ones smoking grass down in the front there, I'm totally allergic to it," Daltrey notes after thanking the crowd for coming. People start to laugh, but Daltrey says, "I'm not kidding." Then, a bit more of an explainer, and a rant: "Whoever it is down there, you f---ed my night and you made me really ... I'm allergic to that s--- and my voice just goes ... it sucks up." His final closing message: "So f--- you!" In 2015, Daltrey lost it at a Long Island concert for similar reasons, threatening to leave the show if fans didn't stop smoking, per Newsday, which notes Daltrey's "well-known allergy to marijuana smoke."
