More than 48 hours after the Iowa caucuses closed, no winner has been declared—and even with 97% of precincts reporting as of early Thursday, it is still too close to call. According to results released after midnight, Pete Buttigieg's lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders has narrowed, the New York Times reports. The former South Bend mayor now has 26.2% of the state's delegate equivalents and Sanders has 26.1%.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren is third with 18.2%, and Joe Biden is fourth with 15.8%. Sen. Amy Klobuchar is in fifth place with 12.2%. Buttigieg's lead equals just three out of the 2,098 state delegate equivalents counted so far, reports the AP. Biden fired a staffer Wednesday and admitted he had taken a "gut punch" in Iowa. Warren pulled $500,000 in TV ads, saying she wanted to "be careful about how we spend our money," reports the Washington Post. (More Iowa caucuses stories.)
