Former President Trump's latest controversial post on his Truth Social platform has to do with Jewish people, specifically those who live in the same country he does. "No President has done more for Israel than I have. Somewhat surprisingly, however, our wonderful Evangelicals are far more appreciative of this than the people of the Jewish faith, especially those living in the US,” Trump wrote Sunday, per NBC News. “Those living in Israel, though, are a different story—Highest approval rating in the World, could easily be PM!” Though it's not clear what specifically prompted the post, NBC notes that the majority of Jews in the US vote Democrat, and Trump has issued similar attacks against them in the past. The leader of the Anti-Defamation League and other big names have condemned Trump's Sunday post.

The Washington Post says Trump's comment, which called on Jews in the US to "get their act together" in terms of supporting Israel, "leaned on [a longstanding] antisemitic trope, suggesting that by virtue of their religion, American Jews should show more appreciation to Israel." The newspaper rounds up a number of similar past comments, including an interview last year in which Trump called it "strange" that he didn't have more support among Jews in the United States: "Jewish people who live in the United States don’t love Israel enough. Does that make sense to you?" he said. In other Trump news, two sources tell Rolling Stone that the former POTUS has told multiple people that Kanye West (who has made his own antisemitic remarks of late) is acting "crazy" and needs to get "help."
