Baldwin Rails on Family Court
Alec Baldwin holds the award for outstanding comedy series "30 Rock" at the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, in Los Angeles.    (Reed Saxon)

Fresh off his Emmy win Sunday, Alec Baldwin took his bitter custody battle public yesterday, promoting a new book, A Promise to Ourselves, about his experience divorcing Kim Basinger. He told a crowd of 120 people in San Francisco that it was his anger and frustration over the process that led to the mortifying phone message in which he called his 11-year-old a "rude, thoughtless little pig," which became an Internet sensation.

In the book, Baldwin rails against the family court system in Los Angeles, offers advice based on his own experience and talks about how one parent can turn a child against another parent. Baldwin has blamed Basinger for leaking the message for which he's since apologized to his daughter, Ireland. She has denied the claim. (More Alec Baldwin stories.)
