ObamaCare Opposition Drops

Opposition to President Obama's health care reform plans has plunged almost 10% in the last months, leaving the nation evenly split with 40% in favor and 40% opposed, according to the latest AP poll. Another 17% are neutral and 3% are undecided. Opposition among seniors, the group most skeptical about the reforms, has fallen 16 points to 43%.

Republicans are still solidly against the reform plans before Congress, with nearly 80% opposed. An overwhelming 82% of the 1,000 adults polled said it was very important that both parties support the plans. The president's speech to Congress and subsequent media blitz have helped win support for the plans, according to a Harvard analyst who tracks public opinion on health care."Getting more directly involved in the outcome is what people expect a president to be doing," he said.
