Ok, that's w-a-a-y too much information, and it's high time that sharing-too-much Twitterers zip it, complains columnist Kathleen Parker. Tweets from a working woman about her miscarriage in the middle of a business meeting hit a new low even for the brashest tweeters, Parker grouses in the Washington Post. "I'm in a board meeting. Having a miscarriage. Thank goodness, because there's a 3-week hoop-jump to have an abortion in Wisconsin," tweets "Brazen Careerist."
"The banality of twittery just out-twitted itself," Parker declares. "Is there anything much more grotesque or freakish than a woman essentially celebrating her miscarriage in a public venue?" Brazen Careerist, known in nonvirtual life as Penelope Trunk, has defended the tweet, saying women should feel free to discuss miscarriage and abortion. "Perhaps some women do need more information about miscarriage," concedes Parker. But they could, "you know, talk to their doctor/mother/grandmother/aunt. Pick up the phone?" (More Twitter stories.)
