Stocks were mixed today, with the Dow boosted by IBM after the firm announced a stock-buyback plan amid weakness elsewhere in tech and in consumer discretionary stocks, the Wall Street Journal reports.

  • The Dow rose 14 points to close at 9,882.
  • The Nasdaq lost 26 points to 2,116.
  • The S&P 500 fell 4 points to 1,063.
