BlackBerry maker RIM begs to differ with Steve Jobs' assertion that all smartphones have antenna problems. Apple is just trying to "distort the public's understanding of an antenna design issue and to deflect attention," the co-CEOs write in an animated statement. (Read it in full at Crackberry.com.) "One thing is for certain, RIM's customers don't need to use a case for their BlackBerry smartphone." Snap.

Now before BlackBerry users get too full of themselves, Chris Matyszczk at CNET concludes his wrap-up of the RIM response thusly: "There will be those who will wonder whether this technological conservatism is what makes BlackBerrys so terribly boxy and businesslike in their design. It really is so hard to have it all in life."
