Mad Men vamp Christina Hendricks' curvy figure makes her a great role model for girls, according to Britain's Equalities Minister. Lynne Featherstone says super-skinny models are overexposed in the media, creating a crisis in body confidence in young women and leading to eating disorders like anorexia, the Telegraph reports.
There need to be a lot more size-12 women like Hendricks seen in the media, Featherstone says, although she stresses that doesn't mean women should aspire to having a Hendricks-esque figure. "The last thing we need is to move from one impossible idealized and unobtainable image of the super skinny kind to another impossible and unobtainable image of the curvy kind," she wrote on her website.
