Stop Staring at Me: 5 Craziest Crimes of Week

A detained dad with someplace to be and a would-be burglar who made himself at home play a role in the weirdest crime stories of the week:

• Famous Impostor Charged With Being an Impostor: Police say a Detroit-area impostor who inspired a 1989 award-winning film was posing like someone else—again. William Street Jr., 64, was charged with fraud and identity theft after he was found with documents and a white doctor's coat with the name of a Maryland man, William Benn Stratton. The story of how Street says he came to take on Stratton's identity is incredibly detailed and very bizarre.
• Man Sues Actress for Staring at Him Through TV: Zhao Wei, one of China's most famous actors, has an intense stare in her role as a domineering matriarch in the TV show Tiger Mom. In fact, she's so intense that a viewer is now suing her, claiming he has suffered "spiritual damage" from the evil eye she's giving him through his TV set. A law passed May 1 in the country is partly to blame for the frivolous case.

• Arrested Man Goes to Extremes to Try to Make Son's Party: An odd story out of Chicago: Lashon Stuckey was picked up on June 1 after police say they saw him selling $30 worth of heroin; he allegedly had several bags of the drug on him. It's a bit unclear which charges followed: One report has him hit with two counts of possession of a controlled substance; another says it was delivery of a controlled substance. Either way, the charges could have ended there, but didn't.
• Man Loses a Literal Fortune to Fortune Teller: Last year, cops in Manhattan say a fortune teller scammed a woman out of $217,000. Seemed like a lot of money ... until this guy, a 32-year-old who reportedly shelled out $713,975 over 20 months to another fortune teller who promised to make the woman he loved love him back—and then that woman died. Here's how Priscilla Kelly Delmaro allegedly kept the payments coming.
• Police: Would-Be Burglar Made Himself at Home: Patrick Lynn Waits, 45, was arrested early Tuesday following a bizarre chain of events that confused residents of a Hobbs, New Mexico, home. A female resident awoke to noise in her kitchen, and found Waits allegedly wiping down a countertop and baking a potato in her microwave oven. When told to leave, Waits went out to the yard and started doing something even more bizarre.
